You keep using that word,free

It does not mean what you think it means

The first New Yorkers go to college tuition free

Florence Yu can't believe her luck. She's starting college the same year New York made tuition free for middle-class students like her.
New York's Excelsior Scholarship is the first of its kind. It covers the cost of tuition for qualifying students who are enrolled in a two- or four-year degree program at any of the state's 88 public colleges and university campuses.
Plans for the scholarship were announced by Governor Andrew Cuomo in January. At first, students planning to attend college this fall didn't know whether it would become reality in time. It was officially approved by the legislature in April.
"I called my Dad at work, and I'm like 'oh my God, Dad, I could get free tuition.' It was so exciting and I remember it so vividly because it was so life changing," Yu said.

Why don't they just make everything free?
Solves all problems now don't it.
So happy to get free shit so they can follow their dreams of a liberal arts degree.
I predict a massive spike in college tuition costs.
A boondoggle of epic proportions in the offing.
New Yorkers deserve to get the ass fucking they so desperately want.
I say good, commies deserve the terribleness their beliefs inevitablty lead too.
Idiots.

Tweeted from Lake Como,Italy

There's a dark cloud hanging over our country

“If you go to our country…depending on what side of the aisle you sit on, it’s probably the angriest I’ve ever seen it,” he noted. “There’s a dark cloud hanging over our country right now.” But he added: “I’m an optimist…I believe that we will get through all these things…but people are angry; a lot of us are angry.”
The “Suburbicon” director also underlined that the film “isn’t a movie about Donald Trump. … This is a movie about our coming to terms constantly with the idea that we have never fully addressed our issues with race.”

I don't know about y'all but I ain't all that angry.
Maybe they should see a head shrinker for their anger issues
My intelligence privilege see's through these dolt's charade of patriotic worry about a country one of em don't even live in.
If the hildebeest was prezzy do you think we would be hearing about dark clouds or atoning for sins I have not or never would commit.
I think we know the answer to that one.
The hate and anger comes from idiots who care not about you,me or country such as it is.
Much like the holier than thou asshats who do nothing to come to terms with any issue other than cast aspersions at Americans of the non-commie nature.
I predict another bomb from the ultimate bomb maker.
What an asshole that dude is.
Now I'm angry thanks George you fuckhead.

You fucked up you trusted the government

Are goats taking jobs from union workers?

A battle is brewing at Western Michigan University this summer between a group of hungry goats and a labor union.
The 400-member American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees has filed a grievance contending that the work the goats are doing in a wooded lot is taking away jobs from laid-off union workers.
"AFSCME takes protecting the jobs of its members very seriously and we have an agreed-upon collective bargaining agreement with Western Michigan," said Union President Dennis Moore. "We expect the contract to be followed, and in circumstances where we feel it's needed, we file a grievance."
The grievance alleges that the university did not notify the union that it was planning to use goat crews on campus, according to a chief steward report supplied to the Battle Creek Enquirer.

I have it on good authority these goats self-identify as human.
Goats are people too asshole.
Therefore we must respect their decision to do work Americans won't do.
Even if some union clock watchers have to sit home on unemployment.
We are a nation of goats and I for one will not stand by while speciesists use human privilege to deny these fine goats the ability to provide for their families.

I hate slogans

He hates me almost as much as I hate John McCain.
I refuse to categorize the people I hate in a red and blue way.
I hate when assholes do that.
Do you hate me for that?

A broken clock and all

She ain't right about almost anything.
Maybe alcohol should be illegal.
I predict prohibition of alcohol will work this time.
It's like communism it just hasn't been implemented correctly by the enlightened few.
If only you stubborn capitalist pigs would get with the program and follow the elites right straight to hell utopia could be realized.
Don't you want unicorns shitting rainbows you deplorables?

Almost a happy milestone in liberal heaven

Chicago goes nearly one week without a homicide

The Chicago Sun-Times and the Chicago Tribune reported the city had passed such a milestone on Sunday morning for the first time in more than five years.

However, that was before the Cook County Medical Examiner's office on Sunday afternoon reported the homicide of 22-year-old Antoine D. Watkins from multiple gunshot wounds. Police say they found him lying face down Saturday in a vacant lot about a block from where he lived in the Austin neighborhood on the city's west side.

Almost counts in gubmint work so pats on the back are in order.
Keep on fuckin that chicken Chicago.

Analysis:More fake news

The only way it happens if the government goes super secret double full retard.
Don't bet against that shit.
My prediction never happens here.
One of the things we do well is grow food.
We could do better but that's another post.

Are supermarkets facing the beginning of the end

In the face of climate change, water shortages, and political instability, the current supermarket model is extremely vulnerable.
Supermarkets have got it all wrong. The model on which they operate, offering a vast selection of fresh fruits and vegetables imported from distant places year-round, is simply unsustainable. It depends on great quantities of fossil fuels to heat greenhouses and to fly or truck long distances, and precious resources like fresh water, often taken from places that don’t have much water to begin with.
The precariousness of this model became apparent earlier this winter, when the UK experienced shortages of lettuce, zucchini, spinach, and other green vegetables. Because of severe flooding in Spain, these foods were not available to import. Suddenly UK supermarkets were scrambling to fly produce across the Atlantic, all the way from California, at a tremendous financial loss to themselves. Why? To maintain the status quo, to stock shelves the ‘usual’ way, because shoppers have come to expect iceberg lettuce in January.

In case you don't click through that comes from Trehugger.com.
Shocking huh?
They won't be happy until we devolve to hunter gathererers but without the hunting.
The comments are atrocious.
By the way I planted some tomatoes and tomatoes.
Maybe today some cabbage.
There I lightened my carbon footprint exponentially higher than Al Gore ever has.
A net drag on humanity that dude is.
That is all.

Update:Add potatoes and potatoes to tomatoes and tomatoes.

Cue up the worlds smallest violin

Boo freakin hoo

Unconditional surrender and false Allied promises to Josef Stalin

A lot of people forget that the Soviet Union did about 90% of the actual fighting in the war against Hitler.  Starting in 1942 Stalin repeatedly asked his "allies" in the west to either open a second front Europe or at least send military forces, particularly air power to help Soviet forces.  In both cases he got promises that were never kept.
What he got instead was a declaration of a policy of "unconditional surrender" in early 1943 about which he was never consulted, a policy which gave the Germans every incentive to fight to the bitter end.   In spite of repeated protests from Stalin to modify this ill-considered policy, Roosevelt flatly refused to change his position, guaranteeing continued huge Russian losses while the west postponed its promised attack in the west for two years.
Even before the onset of the Cold War in the years after 1945, tension and distrust marked the relationship between Great Britain, the United States and the Soviet Union.  Although this tension was understandable given the ideological differences between capitalism and communism, a more important immediate cause was the bizarre, even duplicitous, conduct of President Franklin D. Roosevelt toward Josef Stalin.

Poor Uncle Joe the misunderstood one.
I find myself unmoved by the plight of commies.
I'm no FDR fan but if my decrepit mind remembers correctly without the gargantuan amount of aid we sent the reds the Soviet Union would have been erased from the face of the earth.
That they bore the brunt of fighting against the Nazis is more a geographical reality than a political one.
The writer must believe that if the situation were reversed his hero Stalin would have heroically and selflessly rushed in and sacrificed himself and millions of his comrades to make sure us capitalists pigs weren't needlessly slaughtered.
One must remember Stalin killed more commies than the Nazis ever did.
Apologists for commies really piss me off.
I guarantee you all his what ifs and hope sos never would have come to pass.
That is all.

Well there's a shocker

The shopping cart of a food stamp household:Lots of soda

What do households on food stamps buy at the grocery store?
The answer was largely a mystery until now. The United States Department of Agriculture, which oversees the $74 billion food stamp program called SNAP, has published a detailed report that provides a glimpse into the shopping cart of the typical household that receives food stamps.
The findings show that the No. 1 purchases by SNAP households are soft drinks, which accounted for about 10 percent of the dollars they spent on food. “In this sense, SNAP is a multibillion-dollar taxpayer subsidy of the soda industry,” said Marion Nestle, a professor of nutrition, food studies and public health at New York University. “It’s pretty shocking.”

74 billion dollars for food stamps.
Let that sink in.
Aren't you taxpayers feeling lucky you get to help the downtrodden become unhealthy drags on society.
Why should they worry about eating healthy?
They won't have to foot the bill for their bad habits you will.
The ever expanding welfare state will subsidize all their pathological proclivities.
Soda chips and free doctors what's not to like huh.
Meanwhile if I have no money for food I just do without.
I guess that's one of the advantages of all that white male privilege I got.
Meanwhile the gubmint won't tell the leeches what kind of food they may put in their bodies.
But somehow they can tell me what I can and can't put in my body.
Seems highly illogical don't it.
If gubmint does one thing well it's being illogical.
Don't get me started on all the other vote getting free shit.
What a country.

More bad luck

Running out of other peoples money is always ugly.

Britain's health service is in "humanitarian crisis"

Britain's health service is engulfed in a "humanitarian crisis" that requires the support of the Red Cross to use Land Rovers to transport patients, the charity said on Saturday.
Founded in 1948, the National Health Service (NHS) is a source of huge pride for many Britons who are able to access free care from the cradle to the grave.
But tight budgets, an ageing population and increasingly complex medical needs have left many hospitals struggling during the winter season in recent years, prompting headlines about patients being left to wait on trolleys for hours or even days.
The NHS rejected the Red Cross' description and the Department of Health said it had injected an additional 400 million pounds ($490 million) to help with the demand, but the opposition Labour Party called on Prime Minister Theresa May to do more to tackle the overcrowding.
"This is a national scandal," Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn said in a statement.
"We should not have to rely on the Red Cross to provide the basic care the people of this country need. I am demanding that the prime minister comes to the House of Commons on Monday and sets out to the British people how she plans to fix her failure on the NHS.

There's something to be proud of I guess.
Whodathunk a government program would fail miserably in it's stated mission.
Reality always hits when you least expect it.
At least it's free so they got that going for them.
